Launch of JTiaPhD.com

I've spent over 15 years doing STEM outreach (I'm clearly in my early 20's so, I started around the age of 7). I started because I loved to talk and I didn't mind a crowd. I kept at it because I recognized that there was a unique need for women in STEM to demystify their work. And now, it is the unique, soul-fulfilling way that I serve my community.

A few months ago, I started on a journey to be more deliberate about STEM outreach. Out of that effort I am launching my website: www.jtiaphd.com . It features a collection of engagement content and resources for female, black and brown youth who are interested in learning more about STEM and careers. I pulled from the information I have given to thousands of students and parents in the course of my outreach.

Also, it's just me being and showing that I am a regular person who's an engineer and living my awesome life. Somehow, along the way we made STEM seem unattainable and only for certain demographics. We need to let the people know that STEM IS FOR EVERYONE! You don't need a PhD or fair skin or to be male

It is hard putting yourself in the public eye because we all know that people can be cruel when given the anonymity of the internet and the remote comfort of their couch. I appreciate the love and support of my family, friends and colleagues in turning a passion into a movement. Your shares, retweets, likes, hearts, thumbs-up and comments have meant more than you could know.

I can't wait to share the other projects that I have in the pipeline. But for now please check out my baby:
